A local group took to the streets on Earth Day to clean up the community.
Sustainable Milton decided the best way to help the planet on Wednesday was to pick up garbage on the side of Milton roads.
Town Councillor for Ward 4, Sameera Ali, is a member of the group.
Councillor Ali adds that due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the annual Good Neighbours Day had been cancelled.
She says that’s one of the reasons why they wanted to help clean some of the local streets.
Ali encourages other people to do the same – but just be smart about it.
Sometimes the garbage isn’t anyone’s fault. It can just be the result of heavy winds during garbage pick-up days.
However, Councillor Ali wants people to work harder to lower than plastic usage.
