New modeling released from the province shows that measures are working to contain the spread of COVID-19 and help flatten the curve. Premier Doug Ford says Ontario is trending towards a best case scenario. He adds they’re starting to look at ways to re-open the province with strict criteria and key benchmarks that must be met before lifting or easing restrictions.
Ford says we still have far to go, but we’re in a better position today. The Chief Medical Officer of Health says emergency measures must remain in place to continue reducing the number of cases and deaths. The province says the wave of new community spread of cases has peaked, but outbreaks at long-term care facilities continue to remain a major concern.
