Salvation Army Khi Community has cancelled their programs and church service but are still making sure families in need are getting the food they need during the pandemic.
Salvation Army officer, Ruth Hickman, explains how as of Monday, March 30th, families are able to pick up their food in a drive-thru set-up.
Hickman talks about how their services have been impacted, including the cancellation of programs such as the Mother Goose Club and Nobody’s Perfect Parenting.
While they have had to cancel some of their programs, theĀ Salvation Army are still accepting donations at this time.
Hickman says they are doing everything in their power to remain open and be a source of peace and calm in the community at this time.
They have had to stagger the amount of volunteers who come in in order for them to practice social distancing and reduce the risk of spreading the virus.
