The Milton Public Library has received a grant for a ‘Sensory Kit Lending Library’ project.
It’s in collaboration with Project Autism and the Halton Youth Disability Advisory Council.
The 2020 “Autism Welcome Here: Library Programs, Services, and More” grant could be upwards of $5,000.
Manager of Public Service, Lee Puddephatt, explains what the grant means to the Library.
Puddephatt says it is important for the library to make their services accessible to everyone.
She says it’s good to know their work is being recognized.
Puddephatt adds that kids and adults will have more resources moving forward.
Especially when they need those extra avenues to feel comfortable in public spaces.
