myFM stations all-around Ontario are throwing format out the window to celebrate female artists.
Sunday is International Women’s Day and myFM will be playing a 100% female playlist for the first time in its history.
Program Director Sara Johnston says a spotlight will be put on Canadian women who have helped clear a path for gender equality.
Johnston says for the first time in its history, myFM stations around the province will feature a 100 per cent female playlist.
Johnston says the day will feature not only music but also important lessons about great Canadian women.
She says we soak up so much from American media that our Canadian heroes often get forgotten and hopefully listeners will be able to learn a fact or two they didn’t know before.
In addition to the playlist, the day will also feature an all-female lineup of announcers.
The theme for International Women’s Day this year is ‘Each for Equal’.
