A public meeting was held at Milton Town Council meeting last week to give the public the chance to share their thoughts about a two storey day nursery that has been proposed to be located on 9980 Derry Road West.
Delegate, Peggy, is asking for the entrance and exit driveways to be kept on Derry Road only.
Peggy says that having a driveway on Fourth Line would make it more complicated for residents who need to park on Fourth Line. They are concerned that the area would eventually become a no parking zone for residents.
She also takes on the topic of possibly widening the roads at Fourth Line and Derry to accommodate for the traffic.
Regional Councillor for Ward 1, Colin Best, asked staff if it would be possible to install a controlled intersection at Fourth Line and Cedar Hedge.
Staff says at this time there is no plans to do this.
She finally, addressed the impact this daycare could have on their neighbourhood and the environment.
Other advocates have echoed Peggy’s comments saying that the increased traffic would make it difficult for residents that need to commute out of Town for work.
While most delegates didn’t like the proposed plans, there were some who supported Lullaboo’s proposed new location.
Another report on the property will be brought to council at a later date, and Town Council accepted the presentation as information.
