According to police, the Halton region has seen six bank robberies in the past two months, two in December and four, so far, in January.
To combat these numbers, the Halton Regional Police Service has created a Regional Robbery Task Force.
Detective Sergeant Ellie Bale explains their incentive.
Bale says that the taskforce should aid in their investigations.
Bale explains that the task force should allow them to do their work more effectively and efficiently, and will help them coordinate their internal investigative resources among the districts.
Continuing, she says that it will also allow them to connect with neighbouring police services easier to share information pertaining to the crimes.
As a reminder, she asks residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.
Additionally, Bale says that coordinating internal investigative resources among the districts should now be much easier.
