
The coronavirus is beginning to pop up in Canada.
A Toronto-man was the first to be diagnosed with the new virus.
Following his return from China, his wife is now presumed to have the virus as well.
Also, yesterday, a person in BC has been diagnosed with the virus.
Associate Medical Officer of Health at Halton Region, Dr. Joanna Oda, says coronavirus’ come from a long family of virus’ that include SARS.
Dr. Oda adds that the usual methods for avoiding illness and the spread of illness can be applied to the coronavirus.
That includes staying home when you’re sick, covering your coughs and sneezes with your sleeve, or washing your hands regularly are all effective.
Dr. Joanna Oda says they’re working to make sure residents have all of the information that’s out there.
