The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO), the union representing Ontario public elementary school teachers walked out in protest on Thursday.
Outside on Main Street, teachers from Milton were out in protest joining the Secondary School and Elementary school teachers footsteps.
Randy Potter says the biggest issue that they want to address is in the classroom.
Leanne English, a teacher in Milton, says that she heard support even from students in her classroom.
Potter says the issues this time have changed compared to the past.
All four of the major teacher unions in Ontario continue to take part in some form of job action during the contract negotiations with the province.
