Milton’s Town Council voted to amend the Town’s multi-year strategy during continued budget talks on Monday night.
Rather than adopt a residential tax rate based off Burlington and Halton Hills, council voted to investigate if such a move is wise.`
Regional Town Councillor, Colin Best, says it is their job as councillors to ensure Milton is getting the best services possible at a reasonable cost, not to follow other municipalities.
Best, says their decision to investigate was not only in the interest of keeping taxes low.
Adding that the Town should be making their decisions based off of what they want for Milton’s future, not based on what other municipalities are doing.
