Andrew Scheer is stepping down as a Conservative leader.
Scheer says his family has been put under a lot of stress and the party needs someone who can give everything they’ve got.
He says it wasn’t an easy decision — but it’s the best decision for the party.
Mercedes Stephenson from Global News reported that he is resigning after it was revealed he had been using Conservative Party money to pay for his children’s private school education.
Scheer was elected Conservative leader in May of 2017, barely beating Maxime Bernier for the job.
