This week was Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week across the province.
The week is designed to help educate and create awareness around bullying.
Constable Ryan Anderson with the Halton Police says children have a tendency to hide their bullying issues from parents.
He explains why that may be and what signs parents can look out for if that happens.
Constable Anderson adds that bullying is very common among schools in Ontario.
He says one in three students will report some form of bullying.
Children are encouraged to approach a parent or teacher in the case of bullying.
Anderson gives parents some advice to help monitor their children’s activity.
