Halton Region has allocated funding from the Province in relation to cannabis.
At the council meeting on Wednesday, Halton Council approved a motion that allocates a total of just under $500,000 from the Cannabis Legalization Implementation Fund.
Cannabis edibles are expected to become available for sale by mid-December 2019.
Halton Police Service would be receiving a total of 70% of the funding with Halton Health receiving the other 30%.
