Conservation Halton has delivered a letter to the Province of Ontario.
The letter is a response to Minister of Environment, Conservation and Parks Jeff Yurek’s own letter that was sent out recently.
According to Conservation Halton, Minister Yurek had called for conservation authorities to review and consider their activities.
He wanted them to begin preparations to wind down activities that fall outside the scope of their core mandates.
CAO for Conservation Halton, Hassaan Basit, talks about how the organization took Minister Yurek’s letter.
Conservation Halton CAO Hassaan Basit adds that he’d like the Province to make more informed decisions.
He says they could have the purest of intentions, but without understanding their decisions fully, they could have severe impacts.
Milton’s Town Council had recently backed them in their dispute with the Province.
Conservation Halton CAO, Hassaan Basit, says he expected nothing less.
