
Halton Police have launched Project ERASEĀ (which aims to Eradicate Racing Activity on Streets Everywhere) resulting in over 100 charges being laid.
In June, Halton Police along with Peel Police, and the OPP teamed up to target aggressive driving.
Please be reminded that all persons charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
In total, over 110 provincial notices were issued.
- 11 summonses issued
- 4 criminal charges laid
- Two drivers were charged with stunt driving and had their vehicles and driving licences seized for seven days. These drivers were caught operating their vehicles at 57km/h and 70km/h over the posted speed limit.
- 1 driver had their licence suspended for 3 days after failing a road side screening test
- 2 drivers were arrested and charged for impaired operation. Both had their vehicles seized and their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days
- 1 driver was arrested for being in possession of a weapon
Halton Police will continue to partner with services across the GTA to target aggressive driving and encourage the public to report aggressive driving and street racing whenever they see it.
