Halton’s emergency services teamed up to give blood donations.
Members of Milton’s Fire Department, Halton Paramedics, and Halton Police took part in the Sirens For Life event on Thursday, July 18th at St. Benedict Elementary School.
Each year, the event tries to bring awareness to blood donation by bringing some of the most important people of the community out to take part.
Event Coordinator with Canadian Blood Services, Kersten Dupuis, says having the emergency services members donating blood is big for the community.
Deputy Chief of Operations for the Milton Fire Department, David Krantz, was in attendance.
He says the Sirens For Life blood donation event is just another way for the emergency services to give back.
Deputy Chief of Operations with Halton Paramedics, Tom Sterling, says it’s special to be able to give blood to the region.
Event Coordinator with Canadian Blood Services, Kersten Dupuis, adds on to Sterlings point by saying the emergency services members bring awareness.
She says blood donations, on average, dip in the summer months.
