The Oakville Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB) has released their housing market update for the month of June.
The first quarter has come to a close and board president, Oliver Matas, says that he predicts the second quarter will be very stable.
Matas adds that he doesn’t see anything increasing dramatically because the prices in the Greater Toronto Area are tied to the wages people are paid which tends to keep it honest.
He points out to buyers that the best time for them to look is the spring or fall but the summer is still a possibility.
June is the month were many are closing deals after settling in the spring months.
Board president, Oliver Matas, advises sellers these are the months to aim for.
He says that buyers will look to the spring months to get more selection but the best time of year for a slightly better price could be the summer, when less people are listing and sellers may be more opening to negotiating.
According to figures released July 4 by The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB), the number of all property sales decreased in June compared to the same period in 2018. Monthly property sales dropped slightly by 20, totaling 764 compared to 784 in June 2018.
The total number of new property listings also saw a drop by 70 this year: 1,150 new listings in June 2019 compared to 1,220 in 2018.
