About 200 community members gathered at the Cookstown Curling Club recently for MPP Andrea Khanjin’s inaugural Community Pancake Breakfast.
The event on Saturday, October 17th, brought residents together for a morning of food, family activities and opportunities to connect with neighbours and local community leaders.
Guests enjoyed locally made pancakes and had the chance to meet members of the Town of Innisfil firefighting crew and explore their fire truck. A dedicated children’s zone featuring games and activities also helped make the event family-friendly.
“The inaugural Cookstown Pancake Breakfast was aimed at bringing people together, strengthening our neighbourhoods, and creating joyful family moments and lasting memories for residents of all ages,” says Andrea Khanjin, MPP for Barrie-Innisfil. “I am glad to champion such opportunities that foster a stronger sense of belonging and bring residents together to celebrate the spirit of our community.”
Khanjin also recognized Georgian College firefighter students who volunteered at the event, thanking them for their enthusiasm, hard work and commitment to giving back to the community.
The breakfast provided an opportunity for residents to celebrate Cookstown and strengthen connections across Barrie–Innisfil. Khanjin extended her appreciation to everyone who attended, volunteered and helped organize the inaugural event.
