The Nottawasaga Foundation has completed its $1-million commitment to Stevenson Memorial Hospital’s redevelopment.
A final $100,000 contribution brings the foundation’s total support to $1 million. The pledge was launched in 2017 to mark the Nottawasaga Foundation’s 25th anniversary and has helped support healthcare in the community through its partnership with Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) and the Biffis Family.
“We are excited to be celebrating the completion of our $1 million commitment to Stevenson Memorial Hospital,” says Sylvia Biffis, Director of Sales at the Nottawasaga Resort & Conference Centre and Chair of the Because of YOU Campaign. “As a family, we have seen firsthand how important Stevenson is to this community, and we believe strongly in building a hospital that will be here to serve generations to come. It has been incredibly rewarding to be part of the Because of YOU Campaign and to see the community come together to make this redevelopment a reality.”
Over the years, the Nottawasaga Foundation has contributed to healthcare initiatives at Stevenson, including dialysis services, digital mammography and improvements to obstetrics care. Its support for the Because of YOU Campaign will help address equipment, technology and other needs associated with the hospital’s redevelopment.

The Because of YOU Campaign aims to raise $80 million through community support to fund the local share of the redevelopment project.
The new hospital will be more than twice the size of the current facility and will include expanded emergency care, single-patient rooms throughout the hospital, new diagnostic imaging services featuring Stevenson’s first MRI suite, an expanded birthing unit and other modern healthcare spaces and technology.
With construction underway, the redevelopment is progressing with support from donors, including the Nottawasaga Foundation, and the broader community.
