A 38-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle collision on Veteran’s Drive near McKay Road in Barrie earlier this month.
Barrie Police say officers were called to the area at around 6:50 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13th, after a vehicle left the roadway and struck a post.
Firefighters worked to extricate the driver and a 21-year-old female passenger from the vehicle, which was on its side against a hydro pole.
The driver was unresponsive and sustained life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital before being airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre, where he died later that evening.
The passenger was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries and was subsequently released.
