The Milton Menace were able to sneak out a win against the Oakville Blades.
On Friday, October 2nd, the Menace hosted the Blades at the Milton Memorial Arena. The Blades opened the scoring against Milton in the first period. It took the man advantage for the Menace to answer right back. Alex Spadafora buried his 3rd of the year, assisted by Gavin Sheehan and Nathan Catalano. The game was tied 1-1 heading into the first intermission.
In the second period, Oakville pulled away briefly, scoring two early goals. Dallys Hibbert was able to get his 1st of the season, with help from Cameron Lang and Dean Deligeorgis. Lang would then get a goal of his own after Oakville scored again, making it 4-3 Blades after 40 minutes of action.
Deligeorgis would tie things up with less than ten minutes to go in the third period, sending the game to overtime.
The extra period wasn’t enough, so the game went to the shootout. The Menace were very efficient, scoring twice while keeping Oakville off the board. That gave the Menace the 5-4 win.
Austin McKillop was once again between the pipes for Milton. He stopped 31 of 35 shots, giving him the .885% save percentage and the win.
Next up is a mid-day game against the Stouffville Spirit at the 2026 OJHL Governors Showcase in Niagara Falls. Milton will take them on at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5th.
It will then be a quick turnaround, as the Menace battle the Lindsay Muskies on Tuesday, October 6th at the Gale Centre.
