The Milton Public Library (MPL) is inviting residents to apply for an opportunity to help shape the future of library services in the community.
The MPL Board provides governance and strategic oversight for the Library, helping guide its priorities and ensuring services continue to respond to Milton’s growing and diverse community.
MPL is looking for individuals with a range of skills, experiences and perspectives who are interested in contributing to the future of public library service.
“Serving on the Library Board is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the community and help guide the direction of an important public service,” says Sarah Douglas-Murray, CEO of Milton Public Library. “We encourage residents who are passionate about community service and the role libraries play in strengthening communities to learn more and consider applying.”
Residents interested in learning more are invited to attend a Board Information Session on Monday, September 28th. The session will provide an overview of the Board’s role and responsibilities, expectations of Board members and the application process, with an opportunity for prospective applicants to ask questions.
Applications will be open from October 1st to October 29th and can be completed online. Printed application forms will also be available at Milton Public Library Customer Service Desks.
