It’s fall fair season here in North Halton.
The Acton Fall Fair is returning to Prospect Park this weekend, celebrating its 113th year with a harvest-themed lineup of agricultural exhibits, entertainment, competitions and family activities.
The Acton Agricultural Society is hosting the fair from Friday, September 18th to Sunday, September 20th at Prospect Park, located at 30 Park Avenue in Acton. This year’s theme is ‘Cornstalks & Autumn Walks’, celebrating the traditions and beauty of the harvest season.
Visitors can take in longtime fair favourites including the Truck and Tractor Pull, Education Day, Agricultural Tent and Beer Tent. Live music will also be featured throughout the weekend, with Browns Garage performing Friday night, Saltwater Cowboys on Saturday afternoon and Pulse X on Saturday night.
The Homecraft Exhibit Hall at the Dufferin Rural Heritage Community Centre will showcase local talent through displays of needlework, flowers, vegetables, baking, crafts and preserves.
Chocolate Bar Bingo returns Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the Dufferin Rural Heritage Community Centre. The free, family-friendly event is open to participants of all ages.
Animal enthusiasts can visit the Thompson Drill Shed throughout the weekend. Saturday’s Poultry Show features chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys, while youth 18 and under can participate in the Junior Poultry Show. The Central Canadian Fantail Pigeon Club Fall Kick-Off Show will also be held at the fair.
On Sunday, the Thompson Drill Shed will host a Dove Show featuring domestic and exotic doves from around the world.
The fair will also feature the 63rd Acton Fall Fair Ambassador Competition, recognizing local youth for leadership and community involvement. Saturday evening includes the Evening with Spirit event, offering another unique entertainment experience.
Two new features are being introduced for 2026. The Harvest Hideaway, sponsored by HeyRey, will provide a monitored space for visitors to regroup, recharge or relax, with sensory activities, soft lighting and air conditioning. The space is intended to support accessibility, inclusion and community well-being.
The Junior Fair Board is also introducing a Cornhole Tournament, adding another opportunity for friendly competition.
Tickets are available in person at RBC, BMO, Scotiabank, Tandia Financial and TD Canada Trust in Acton, or online.
Georgetown’s Fall Fair was held last weekend at the Georgetown Fairgrounds. Milton’s will be held next weekend at the Milton Fairgrounds on Robert Street.
