The Halton District School Board (HDSB) is asking students, families and community members to help name a new secondary school opening in Oakville next year.
Suggestions can be submitted through the Board’s online form or by mail to the Communications & Engagement Deptartment, HDSB, PO Box 5005 STN LCD 1, Burlington, Ontario, L7R 3Z2
Proposed names will be reviewed by a committee representing students, parents and guardians, and staff. A shortlist will then be created before the Board of Trustees selects a name to be submitted to the Ministry of Education for final approval.
The HDSB is accepting name suggestions until September 13th.
The new Oakville secondary school is scheduled to open in September 2027. It will be located at 4020 Sixth Line.
