An Etobicoke man has been arrested following an investigation into sexual assault in Burlington.
On Tuesday, June 16th, at about 5:15 p.m. a woman was in the south parking lot of the Burlington GO Station located at 2101 Fairview Street when she was approached by the accused. A conversation began during which the accused allegedly sexually assaulted the victim.
The victim immediately left; however, she was followed by the accused to a business a short distance away. The accused approached and allegedly sexually assaulted the victim a second time.
The victim did not suffer any physical injuries.
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) says their Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit (CASA) took carriage of the investigation and were able to identify the accused.
As a result of the investigation, on Sunday, July 26th, 25-year-old Mandeep Singh was arrested and charged with two counts of Sexual Assault.
Singh was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
At the time of the offence the accused was employed as an Uber driver and investigators are concerned there may be additional victims.

Sexual assault is any touching of another person without their consent where the touching is of a sexual nature, or where the sexual integrity of the victim is violated. A sexual assault can range from unwanted touching to sexual assault involving penetration.
There is no statute of limitation when it comes to reporting a sexual assault. This means that no matter how long ago the sexual assault happened, you can still report it to police for investigation.
