The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has delivered a first-quarter payment of $1,943,792 to the Town of Milton for hosting Elements Casino Mohawk.
The payment covers the period from April 1st to June 30th.
Since the casino opened in August 1999, the town has collected more than $157 million in total. These revenues are distributed under the Municipality Contribution Agreement, which applies a consistent formula across Ontario’s land-based casinos.
“Revenues from OLG’s Municipality Contribution Agreement allow Milton to invest in infrastructure and provide funding for critical community services,” says Zee Hamid, Member of Provincial Parliament for Milton. “Provincial revenues from Elements Casino Mohawk will help improve the quality of life for families across Ontario.”
Since 1994, host communities across Ontario have received almost $2.4 billion in non-tax gaming revenue. OLG notes that these funds contribute to local infrastructure, economic development, and job creation.
