Residents are invited to help maintain the Butterfly Meadow in Milton during a community gardening event this month.
Hosted by Sustainable Milton, the event will take place on Saturday, July 18th, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the northeast corner of Commercial Street and Laurier Avenue.
Volunteers of all ages are welcome to participate in sprucing up the Butterfly Meadow, and student volunteer hours will be available for eligible participants.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a hat, water bottle, and, if available, gardening gloves, a trowel or shovel. Closed-toe shoes are required, and organizers recommend wearing long pants and long-sleeved shirts to help prevent tick exposure.
All participants must complete a volunteer waiver before taking part. Volunteers under the age of 18 must also submit a permission form. Those who have already completed the required forms earlier this year do not need to fill them out again.
