A routine early morning traffic stop in Burlington resulted in the seizure of two loaded handguns and a quantity of suspected drugs.
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) says an officer on patrol stopped a vehicle at a Petro-Canada station near Walkers Line and Harvester Road at around 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3rd. Investigators allege the lone occupant of the vehicle was wearing a face covering at the time of the stop.
Following an on-scene investigation, officers arrested the driver for impaired operation and searched the vehicle.
Police seized two loaded Glock handguns, additional ammunition, approximately 150 oxycodone pills, 150 Xanax pills, 40 hydromorphone pills and about 50 grams of crack cocaine.
As a result, 46-year-old Leslie Prince of Etobicoke has been charged with:
- Operation While Impaired
- Care of Control of Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Oxycodone)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Xanax)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Hydrochloride)
- Careless Use of a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle (two counts)
- Unauthorized Possession of a firearm (two counts)
- Careless storage of a firearm (two counts)
- Possession of a prohibited firearm (two counts)
- Possession of firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized (two counts)
- Possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order (three counts)
