A Georgetown man is facing multiple charges after a teenage girl was allegedly sexually assaulted in Georgetown last month.
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) says it happened on Monday, May 25th at about 7:10 p.m. in the area of James Street and Draper Street. Investigators allege the teenage victim was walking in the area when she was approached by a man who initiated a conversation before sexually assaulting her.
Police arrested 28-year-old Sankalp Singh on Friday, May 29th. He has been charged with:
- Sexual Assault
- Invitation to Sexual Touching
- Sexual Interference
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton. Police say the victim did not suffer any physical injuries.

Sexual assault is any touching of another person without their consent where the touching is of a sexual nature, or where the sexual integrity of the victim is violated. A sexual assault can range from unwanted touching to sexual assault involving penetration.
There is no statute of limitation when it comes to reporting a sexual assault. This means that no matter how long ago the sexual assault happened, you can still report it to police for investigation.
