The North Halton Hospice has received another major donation toward its future residential hospice project, with the Estate of Ann and John Eaton contributing an additional $1 million.
The new gift brings the estate’s total support to $2 million, making it one of the largest donations in the organization’s history. The funding will support plans for a 10-bed residential hospice serving residents in Milton, Halton Hills, and surrounding communities.
In recognition of the donation, the future hospice’s Great Room will be named in honour of Ann and John Eaton. The space is expected to serve as a gathering and support area for residents, families, volunteers, and visitors.
“This extraordinary gift is a testament to the compassion and generosity of Ann and John Eaton over their lifetime,” says Kim Kohlberger. “Their legacy will have a lasting impact on countless individuals and families who will benefit from hospice care for generations to come.”
North Halton Hospice says many residents currently need to travel outside the area to access residential hospice services. The organization’s planned facility aims to provide specialized end-of-life care closer to home in a compassionate, home-like setting.
The project will also include expanded educational services and the exploration of additional community hospice programming throughout Milton and Halton Hills.
