Residents in Halton will have a chance to safely dispose of sensitive documents while supporting a local cause at an upcoming community shred event.
The event allows residents to bring personal papers for secure, on-site shredding in exchange for a donation of their choice. Blue Pencil Mobile Shredding will be on hand to unload vehicles, and participants can watch their documents being destroyed, helping reduce the risk of identity theft and fraud.
Organizers say the fundraiser is held twice a year and supports ongoing community initiatives, while also providing a convenient and environmentally responsible way to dispose of important documents. All funds raised will support Crime Stoppers of Halton, a non-profit organization that offers cash rewards for crime tips that lead to an arrest.
The Crime Stoppers of Halton Shred Fundraiser returns on Saturday, May 23rd, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Halton Regional Police Headquarters, located at 2485 North Service Road West in Oakville.
