Residents in Innisfil are being encouraged to roll up their sleeves and help clean up the community during the town’s annual Pitch-In Day next month.
The event takes place Saturday, May 9th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., inviting volunteers to collect litter from parks, trails, shorelines, and roadsides across town. Mayor Lynn Dollin says the initiative highlights the strong sense of community in Innisfil, bringing residents together while helping protect the local environment.
Participants are asked to register online in advance so the Town can plan for turnout. Cleanup kits, including garbage bags, gloves, and safety information, are available for pickup at Innisfil Town Hall and all branches of the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library, with additional pickup locations available on the day of the event.
Following the cleanup, volunteers are invited to a community barbecue at Centennial Park from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The appreciation event will feature free food, games, music, face painting, and prize draws, along with booths from local environmental groups.
Organizers are reminding participants to stay safe by avoiding hazardous materials and remaining aware of their surroundings while collecting litter.
