The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating after a home invasion in Oakville led to the theft of a vehicle early Sunday morning.
Officers were called to a home near Neyagawa Boulevard and Dundas Street at around 3:05 a.m. on Sunday, April 26th. Investigators allege three male suspects used a hammer to smash a window on the front door, then reached inside to unlock it and gain entry.
Residents inside the home were awakened by the noise and confronted by one of the suspects, who was reportedly holding a hammer and demanding keys to a Mercedes SUV parked in the driveway. Police say the suspects took the keys and fled the scene in the stolen vehicle, along with a red SUV they had arrived in.
The stolen SUV was later recovered unoccupied in Toronto. No physical injuries were reported.
Investigators are appealing to the public for any video footage (dashcam or surveillance) from the area of Dundas Street and Neyagawa Boulevard between 2:45 a.m. and 3:10 a.m.
