Former Milton MP Lisa Raitt
Former Milton MP Lisa Raitt has been appointed to a federal advisory committee focused on strengthening economic ties between Canada and the United States.
CIBC announced that Raitt, who serves as Vice Chair in the Office of the CEO, has been named to the Advisory Committee on Canada-U.S. Economic Relations by Prime Minister Mark Carney.
The committee brings together leaders from business, investment, trade and labour to provide strategic advice on key aspects of the Canada-U.S. economic relationship, particularly as both countries prepare for upcoming trade negotiations.
Raitt served as Milton’s federal representative from 2015 – 2019.
CIBC President and CEO Harry Culham said Raitt’s experience across both the public and private sectors will help support economic growth and strengthen cross-border partnerships.
The bank added that her insights will contribute to efforts aimed at promoting stability and long-term prosperity for businesses and families on both sides of the border.
