An Oakville driver is facing multiple charges after being stopped for stunt driving in Guelph.
Guelph Police say the incident happened at around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, April 17th at the intersection of Gordon Street and Edinburgh Road South, where an officer observed a Corvette make a sudden U-turn, fishtail, and accelerate at a high rate of speed. The officer followed the vehicle and recorded it travelling more than 100 km/h before pulling it over for a traffic stop.
As a result, a 21-year-old Oakville man has been charged with:
- stunt driving
- speeding
- careless driving
His licence was suspended for 30 days and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days, with further penalties possible if convicted.
