The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is recognizing the contributions of local volunteers with a special appreciation event during National Volunteer Week.
The 5th annual Volunteer Appreciation event will take place on Wednesday, April 22nd from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Bradford Community Hub, celebrating individuals who have supported Recreation and Culture programs over the past year. The event will include refreshments, awards, and presentations of certificates of appreciation from Mayor and Council.
Town officials say volunteers play a key role in a variety of programs, including community events, aquatics, youth programming, and the Sidekick Buddy Program. Since launching in 2017, the Event Volunteer Program has helped expand local events and enhance services, with volunteers assisting in tasks such as event setup, activities, and community engagement. Other programs, including aquatics and youth initiatives, provide opportunities for skill development, mentorship, and fostering inclusive spaces for participants of all ages.
National Volunteer Week runs from Sunday, April 19th to Saturday, April 25th.
