Nominations are now open for the Halton Catholic Parent Involvement Committee’s Volunteer of the Year Award, recognizing those who make a difference in local school communities.
The award, presented by the Halton Catholic District School Board, celebrates parents and guardians who play a key role in building supportive, caring, and inclusive environments across Catholic schools in Halton. Organizers say the honour highlights individuals whose efforts help strengthen and uplift school communities.
To be eligible, nominees must be a parent or guardian of a student within the board and demonstrate consistent involvement in supporting school activities, whether through volunteering directly or organizing others. Nominees are also expected to reflect strong Catholic values through their contributions to their school or parish community. Individuals who are paid by a school or the board, as well as current committee members, are not eligible.
Nominations can be submitted by parents, guardians, or staff members, and self-nominations are also accepted. One recipient will be selected from each family of schools, for a total of 10 award winners.
The deadline to submit nominations is Tuesday, April 21st at 11:59 p.m., with winners expected to be contacted and announced in May during the Council of Chairs Meeting.
