Young artists in Milton are being invited to get creative and celebrate their community through art this spring.
The Milton Kids’ Art Celebration will take place this May at the Milton Public Library’s Sherwood Branch, giving children the opportunity to showcase their work as part of a public exhibition. The initiative is presented in partnership with South Asian Mommies of Milton and is open to all Milton residents aged 6 to 17.
This year’s theme, “Happy Milton!”, encourages participants to draw or paint what makes them smile about their town. That could a favourite park, local landmark, activity, or even just a special memory.
Submissions are free and must be uploaded online by April 30th. A panel will review entries, with selected artists invited to submit their original pieces for display at the Sherwood branch. Artwork must be original and no larger than 11” by 14”, with a variety of mediums accepted, including paint, pencil, crayons, markers, or mixed media.
