Town of Milton Council Chambers, 2019
Milton residents are being invited to provide final feedback on the Town’s updated Official Plan before it moves to Council for adoption.
The plan, part of the multi-year “We Make Milton” project, will guide growth and development in the community through to 2051. Town officials say the updated document reflects years of public input and includes policies related to land use, housing, transportation, parks, retail and infrastructure, as well as integration of policies from the Halton Region Official Plan.
Key elements of the plan include building complete communities, evaluating urban boundary expansion, supporting affordable housing, protecting commercial space and planning for multi-modal transportation options.
Residents, businesses and stakeholders are encouraged to review the draft plan and share their input during two upcoming meetings. A statutory open house will be held on Tuesday, March 31st, with a virtual session from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and an in-person session from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Milton’s Town Hall, located at 150 Mary Street. A statutory public meeting will follow on Monday, April 13th at 7:00 p.m. inside the Council Chambers.
Register for the upcoming virtual session here.
