Barrie Police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a robbery at a jewelry store inside Georgian Mall.
It happened on Tuesday, March 17th when masked suspects smashed display cases with hammers and stole merchandise before fleeing the Bayfield Street mall in a dark-coloured sedan.
Investigators are asking residents and motorists in the areas of McVeigh Drive, Cundles Road West and Leacock Drive to review any home security, doorbell or dash camera footage recorded between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Police say they are particularly interested in footage showing a group of young males matching suspect descriptions in those areas.
The suspects are described as four males in their late teens to early 20s, wearing dark clothing and face coverings, with some carrying hammers and reusable bags.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact the investigating officer by email at kburke@barriepolice.ca or submit tips anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
