Residents are invited to lace up their shoes and take part in the 2026 Hike for Hospice this spring in support of compassionate end-of-life care in North Halton.
Hosted by the Townsend Smith Foundation and presented by Canada Life, the annual event brings the community together to raise funds to build and sustain a local hospice. Organizers say the initiative supports a vision of providing dignified, compassionate care close to home for individuals and families during life’s final chapter.
Participants can join one of three community hikes in Acton, Georgetown or Milton, with routes designed to bring people together for a shared cause. The event is open to all ages and abilities, with free registration and family-friendly activities planned throughout the day.
Organizers say participants can register as individuals or teams, while those unable to attend can still contribute by donating or supporting others taking part. Sponsorship and volunteer opportunities are also available for those looking to get involved.
Hike for Hospice will take place on Saturday, May 2nd. Learn more here.
