Two men have been charged in separate investigations by Barrie Police involving the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
They arrested an unnamed 25-year-old man on Wednesday, March 11th following a two-month investigation that began after receiving multiple reports from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding suspected online uploads. Officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Springwater Township on February 25th, seizing several electronic devices that were later found to contain child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
The accused has been charged with possession, accessing and distribution of child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
In a separate investigation, officers also arrested a 53-year-old Barrie man on March 11th following a four-month probe that was initiated after a report from the same agency. Police executed a search warrant at a residence in Barrieās south end in December 2025, where multiple electronic devices were seized and later found to contain more than 100 images of child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
That accused has also been charged with possession, accessing and distribution of child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
