The Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) is asking the community for input as it prepares its 2026 – 2027 school year budget.
Board officials say parents, students, staff, and community members are invited to take part in a public consultation survey to help guide spending priorities and support student success.
Most school board funding comes from the Ontario Ministry of Education through the provincial Core Education Funding model, with allocations largely based on student enrolment. The majority of the budget is already committed to essential services such as educators and staff, student transportation, learning resources, school operations, and supports for students.
The board says only a small portion of the budget remains flexible for new initiatives or enhancements once required costs are covered, and some funding must be used for specific programs under provincial guidelines.
The consultation survey is open until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 27th, with feedback helping inform the proposed budget before it is presented to trustees for approval in June 2026.
