Nottawasaga OPP say three drivers are facing stunt driving charges after being caught significantly exceeding the speed limit in separate incidents over three days.
The first incident occurred shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7th, when a vehicle was stopped travelling 143 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Highway 89, east of Alliston.
Police say two additional drivers were stopped on the morning of Monday, March 9th on Mill Street in Angus. Officers recorded speeds of 116 km/h and 112 km/h in a 50 km/h zone in separate occurrences between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.
All three drivers were charged with stunt driving under the Highway Traffic Act. Police say each driver received an immediate 30-day licence suspension, and their vehicles were impounded for 14 days. They are scheduled to appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges.
