A 42-year-old Barrie woman is facing multiple charges following a single-vehicle collision in the city’s south end.
The Barrie Police says officers were called to North Village Way in the Park Place area at around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25th after reports a suspected impaired driver had struck several protective pillars outside an indoor play facility. Witnesses told police the vehicle nearly drove into the building’s main entrance.
Police allege the driver attempted to leave the scene but was unable to due to significant vehicle damage. Officers say breath samples indicated the woman’s blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit.
She has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80-plus
- Dangerous operation
No injuries were reported, and her five-year-old child, who was in the vehicle at the time, was picked up by a family member.
