
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested four suspects following an attempted jewelry store robbery at Oakville Place Mall.
On Friday, February 27th, at about 6:00 p.m., four masked males dressed in dark clothing were intercepted by security inside the mall on Leighland Avenue before any robbery occurred. The suspects fled but were located nearby by officers and found with hammers, disguises and a machete.
18-year-old Phoenix Cottle of Toronto is facing charges of:
- Robbery
- Disguise with Intent
- Possession of Break in Instruments
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Obstruct Peace Officer
A 15 year old male of Toronto is facing charges of:
- Robbery
- Disguise with Intent
- Possession of Break In Instruments
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
A 15 year old male of Toronto is facing charges of:

- Possession of Break in Instruments
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
A 14 year old male of Toronto is facing charges of:
- Robbery
- Disguise with Intent
- Possession of Break In Instruments
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Carry a Concealed Weapon
The 14-year-old was released on an undertaking with a future court date in Milton, while Cottle and the two 15-year-olds were held pending bail hearings.
No injuries were reported, and investigators say the accused are not believed to be connected to recent Burlington jewelry store robberies.
The investigation is ongoing.
