Conservation Halton is inviting residents to celebrate one of its sweetest and most historic traditions as Maple Season returns to local parks.
Maple Town runs weekends and holidays from Saturday, February 28th to Sunday, April 5th, and daily during March Break (March 16th – March 20th). Visitors can learn about tree tapping, sap collection and syrup making, explore the Maple Trivia Trail, sample maple sugar and syrup, and enjoy maple taffy on snow. Families can also visit the Animal Barn and Raptor Centre, take part in the Sugar Rangers Challenge, and shop for maple treats in the Country Store. Get tickets here.
A special Easter Egg Extravaganza is also planned for April 3rd – April 5th from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
There will be a new event this year!
For two nights only (Saturday, March 7th and Saturday, March 28th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.) Mountsberg will host Syrup & Starlight, an evening experience featuring a moonlit wagon ride, a guided tour of the sugar bush, evaporator talks, maple syrup tasting flights, Indigenous food tastings and live fiddle music. Get tickets here.
Sweet Water runs weekends and holidays from Saturday, February 28th to Sunday, April 5th and daily during March Break from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The program highlights the Indigenous origins and present-day practice of maple sugaring, with guided maple and birch syrup tastings, Sweet Water Talks in the Longhouse Village and children’s crafts. Crawford Lake will also host World Water Day on Sunday, March 22nd from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., featuring water teachings and family-friendly activities, included with regular admission.
