The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect following a theft and fraud investigation in Burlington.
On Wednesday, January 21st, at about 9:30 p.m., an unknown man attended the LA Fitness at 1326 Brant Street and entered the locker area, where he allegedly stole a victim’s car keys from a gym locker. Investigators say the suspect then entered the victim’s vehicle and stole a wallet containing several credit cards.
Roughly 20 minutes later, the suspect attended the Walmart at 2065 Fairview Street and used the stolen credit cards to make purchases valued at more than $800. He was later seen getting into a dark-coloured SUV.
The suspect is described by the HRPS as:
- Male
- Brown
- 20-30 years-old
- average build
- brown hair
- gold framed glasses, diamond earrings
- wearing a navy winter coat, black t-shirt, black jogging pants and white crocs
