The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has charged a Hamilton Police officers in connection with a child sexual abuse and exploitation material investigation.
On Wednesday, February 25th, 43-year-old David Hamilton of Burlington was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material
- Transmitting Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material
The alleged offences are said to have occurred in Burlington between January 3rd and January 4th this year. Hamilton has served for 19 years with Hamilton Police.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton. Hamilton Police say he was also suspended without pay.
As the matter is now before the courts, police say no further updates will be provided.
