Maple leaf flag flying in the wind
The Halton District School Board and the Town of Milton are both lowering flags to honour the victims of a recent school shooting in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia.
“We are deeply saddened by the school shooting in northern British Columbia. Our thoughts are with the students, staff, families and community members of Tumbler Ridge, BC and all those impacted by this devastating tragedy,” the HDSB says in a statement. “News like this can be upsetting for young people. Families are encouraged to check in with their children and remind them that support is available through their school if needed.”

The Town of Milton says the flags at Town Hall will be flown at half-mast from until sunset on Thursday, February 19th, to honour the victims of the tragedy, with municipal officials extending their condolences to the community of Tumbler Ridge during this difficult time.
